Women's Studies Undergraduate Minor Requirements

 

Women's Studies Minors must complete at least 15 semester hours of approved courses, distributed as follows:

1. At least three (3) semester hours of interdisciplinary Women's Studies courses selected from either WST3015 Introduction to Womens' Studies, WST 3251, WST 4930, or 4931 

2. At least nine (9) semester hours of cross-listed core courses:

Minors should consult with the Women's Studies office each term for a list of approved courses.  2000-level courses may NOT be used for the minor.

Only one approved course from the student's major may count toward the Women's Studies minor, and only if the course has not been used for credit toward the major.  Also, courses counted for the minor may not be used to fulfill requirements for liberal studies.

Students who intend to minor in Women's Studies should declare their intent with the Program Director at least two semesters before graduation.  If the student is an Arts & Sciences major, after completing 90 semester hours they must declare their minor with Arts & Sciences (Longmire 10). Students must have at least a "C-" average in the minor and complete an exit interview before graduating.
